Do I need a foundation or concrete slab?

No — a full concrete slab is not required.

CHOMEX homes are designed to sit on level, stable supports, not necessarily a poured slab. Most customers place their home on:

  • Concrete blocks or piers
  • Sonotube footings
  • A compacted gravel pad
  • Other level, load-bearing bases

As long as the ground is properly leveled and stable, the home can be installed safely and securely.

A concrete slab is optional if your local jurisdiction requires it, but it is not a structural requirement of the home itself.

Each municipality has its own rules, so we always recommend confirming with your local building department or engineer what foundation type they prefer.
